Celebrating 100 Days of School!
Mark your calendars for a very special day! On February 13th, we will celebrate our 100th day of school! Students are invited to come to school dressed up as their vision of themselves at 100 years old. We encourage creativity and imagination! Whether it’s gray hair, glasses, a cane, or a cardigan, there are so many fun ways to bring this idea to life. Need some inspiration? Check out Pinterest for adorable costume ideas or visit a local thrift store to find great items at an affordable price.
To make the day even more festive, we will have a parade in the morning where students can show off their costumes. This will be a wonderful opportunity for everyone to admire the creative efforts of their classmates!
If your child prefers not to dress up, no problem! They can come to school in their uniform as usual.
We can’t wait to see everyone’s amazing costumes and celebrate this milestone together. Let’s make it a day to remember!
Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2025! I hope your holidays were filled with happiness, joy, and plenty of cheer!
Thank you all for your incredible generosity. I truly appreciate the beautiful cards and thoughtful gifts that brought so much warmth to my heart — your thoughtfulness is sincerely appreciated.
I’m excited for all the learning and growth that 2025 will bring, and I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, January 6th!

Exciting Science Projects Underway! 🚀
We are thrilled to let you know that our classroom is buzzing with excitement as we dive into some hands-on science projects! There are two projects currently happening, and the students will be working hard.
For those students creating posters (they know who they are), please have them bring a poster board to class by Monday. Poster boards can be purchased at Walmart, the Dollar Store, or any store of your convenience.
Students will have time to work on their projects in class, followed by presentations. If they don’t complete their work during the up coming week, they will be able to bring it home over the weekend to finish up. All other necessary supplies will be provided here at school.
Thank you for your support! We can’t wait to see their creativity and hard work come to life.
Secret Santa Fun Begins!
I’m thrilled to share that our classroom Secret Santa tradition is officially underway! On Friday, the students excitedly drew names for their Secret Santa exchanges, and they can’t wait to prepare a small gift for their chosen classmate.
To keep things fun and simple, we’ve set a $10.00 limit on gifts. As a class, we brainstormed some thoughtful and budget-friendly ideas, including:
- Chocolates or candy
- A cup filled with treats
- Tree ornaments or handmade ornaments
- Silly or festive socks
- Small gift cards
- Craft supplies
- Mittens or gloves
- A deck of cards
- Home-baked goods, such as cookies
These are just suggestions—creativity is always encouraged! The goal is to spread a little holiday cheer and kindness.
Please remind your child to keep their Secret Santa a secret and to bring their wrapped gift to school as soon as it is ready. I have a designated spot where I keep them—up high, safely out of reach, but still visible until it’s time to open them.
If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Gingerbread Man/House Decorating Anyone?
I’m reaching out to you because you might just have the resources or the passion for something like this, and if yes, this is your chance. I’m excited to explore the possibility of having parents join us to lead or assist in a festive gingerbread man or house decorating activity. Are there any volunteers willing to contribute homemade or store-bought gingerbread men, while others may consider donating icing? I’ll supply some toppings, and students are welcome to bring their own if they prefer.
If students would like, they may also bring their own gingerbread men or houses to decorate! My only concern is if they forget or are unable to bring one, so we’ll aim to have extras available to ensure everyone can participate.
With 24 students in the classroom, your participation would greatly boost this creative experience! If this would be a go, it would take place on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Let me know your thoughts via email at bmoisin@highroadacademy.com in the next few days or drop by after school.
Skating Tomorrow!
Just a friendly reminder that our class will be on the ice tomorrow from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. We will be leaving HRA at 10:10 a.m. If you are available to help with tying skates, we would greatly appreciate it if you could meet us at the rink shortly after 10:10 a.m.
Please ensure your child brings the following:
- A helmet
- Warm clothing (as much as they’d like to stay cozy!)
- Skates (if they are not renting them at the rink)
