Math Quiz – On Monday, students will have a place value quiz.  They will need to know how to represent a given number in pictures using base 10 blocks, in words, and in expanded form.  It will include comparing and ordering numbers as well.

Daily Homework – Just a reminder that students should be reading 20 min. and recording it in their planners for me to check.  XtraMath website should be used for 5-10 min. to practice and improve on math facts.

Bible Memory Verses and Spelling – All though we do take some time to practice our spelling words and Bible memory verses in class, these need to be practiced on at home as well.  Spelling City is a great website where spelling words can be practiced while playing fun games.  Students work on a spelling booklet most mornings (about 1 hour in total) at school, but if by Friday this booklet is not complete, it will come home for homework for the weekend.  The “Spelling” section of my blog page contains a copy of the spelling words each week and a direct link to spelling city.  The Bible memory verses are also found under “Bible Memory Verses” tab of the blog, along with the quiz date.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, your children will come shopping at my store using the money earned    while doing their chosen jobs.  This will be quite the exciting event.  If you happen to have extra chocolates and candy (individually wrapped of course) that you would like to donate for our classroom store, I would certainly appreciate it.  Students will be able to buy passes, treats, and prizes.

Friday, Oct. 23rd is a Pro-D day and therefore, no school for students.

On Wednesday, Oct. 28th is fall colours dress up day (no costumes please) and a special food truck lunch (hotdogs and chips).
